The Southern Alternative Rock band “HESTER” live performances are captivating, due largely to their original and unique sound which some say is a blend of traditional style southern rock with an alternative rock attitude. The band has the ability to melt your heart one minute with one of their slow ballads then blow your mind and socks off the next. You never really have the “HESTER” experience if you only listened to their current release “Here I Am” on the Dynasty Records label and not attended a live show. As one spectator recently commented after seeing them perform live, “Just listening to a “Hester” CD and not seeing them perform live is like ripping a page from a book…you’ll never get the whole story”. 

The band has been in the studio finishing up their second effort titled “Right As Rain”, scheduled for release in the Summer of 2013. In a recent interview front man and principle songwriter for the group Larry Hester commented, “We are really excited about our upcoming release. The songs on the “Right As Rain” album are a true representation of our band and what you hear at our live performances. We recorded the tracks at The Barn studio, deep in the backwoods of South Mississippi in Harrison County close to where we have setup our home base in Biloxi and we can’t be happier with the results. The studio owner/engineer Terry Lester has managed to capture the HESTER sound perfectly. You won’t find our music over produced with a lot of tricks and gimmicks to make it sound better. What you hear is what you get, solid back to roots rock and roll HESTER style. We believe in the theory that less is more and try to live by it in our songwriting and live performances.”

The band was formed in Mississippi, the Birthplace of Americas Music in 2008 when founding member Larry Hester (Rebel Faction; The WildKatts; Johnny Blue) reunited with drummer Tommy Noland (Bryan Austin Band; Johnny Blue) in Biloxi, Mississippi. They immediately started working on new material penned by singer/songwriter Larry Hester and soon released their first effort “Here I Am” which was well received. The current lineup consists of Larry Hester on Lead Vocals and Acoustic; Chris V. Loepke on Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals; Joe Taranto on Bass and Backing Vocals; and Tommy Noland on Drums.  They play their own unique blend of blues, country and rock, coining the phrase of their genre’, “Southern Alternative Rock”. Growing up in South Mississippi and being exposed to all types of music down around New Orleans, the influence of the region is distinct in their songs. You mostly hear a Southern Rock influence but with an Alternative Rock in your face attitude. Their live performances are dynamic and packed with high energy throughout the set. As one spectator commented, “Listening to the HESTER album and not seeing them perform… is like tearing a page from a book… You don’t get the whole story”.  Their second release was recorded deep in the backwoods of Harrison County, Mississippi at Terry Lester's studio "THE BARN". The Nashville Cream magazine published a review on this venue and it is rated as one of the best live rooms in Music City if not the best. The High Watt is a premier showcase venue and is noted for having one of the best sound systems and engineers in the business. HESTER will join Lynn Manderson, Matt Butcher and Suzi Ragsdale for a show there on Monday, February 25, 2013 which should rock the doors off the place.

Larry Hester the lead singer/songwriter for the Southern Alternative Rock Band "HESTER" will roll into Los Angeles, California from Mississippi for one show only at the infamous "Viper Room" on New Years Day 2013.

Hester will perform original songs from the current release "Here I Am" and many new songs that are on the upcoming release "Right As Rain". Larry will be performing his "HESTER Unplugged Show" along with backing from Terry Quinn of the LA Weazel's on lead acoustic. It has been a year since his last performance at The Viper Room and this marks the first time since 2008 that Hester and Quinn have performed together in Los Angeles. Quinn has played on tour with the band in 2011 throughout the Southeastern U.S. and on the Hard Rock Tour.

The Port Charlotte, Florida Music Festival will kickoff on Saturday, November 17th, 2012 beginning at 10:00 am until 10:00 pm for twelve hours of continuous music!
